Our Allergy Services

Whether it’s a pollen allergy or shellfish allergy, our trusty specialists will provide you with an accurate diagnosis and comprehensive treatment plan.

Our Allergy Services

Allergies occur throughout the year in all types of climates and can be triggered by pollen, mold spores, dust mites, animal dander, food, chemicals, medications, and other environmental irritants.
ENT Associates offers a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of allergy symptoms, including evaluation and medical management, as well as immunotherapy (allergy shots). We not only perform in-office testing but also offer ongoing treatment of allergies through immunotherapy—when indicated.
Allergies fall under two categories: seasonal and perennial. The latter occurs year-round, while seasonal allergies appear during specific times of the year—generally during spring when trees and flowers bloom. They can also occur in the fall season when ragweed is at its worst. Seasonal allergies are often referred to as hay fever.

Allergy Conditions

There are several common allergic conditions that many people are faced with each day, especially in the Pacific Northwest. Through comprehensive allergy testing, the trained staff at ENT Associates will be able to identify which of these—along with several other allergens—you may be reacting to.
Some common conditions include:

House dust and other indoor allergens.

Pets

Pollens, grass, trees, mold, and other outdoor allergens.

Associated Symptoms

Here are some common symptoms that come with these conditions.

Asthma

Runny Nose, Itchy Eyes & Sneezing

Sinusitis

Eczema & Other Skin Reactions

Respiratory Infections

Allergy Testing

The first line of treatment for allergy symptoms is typically through medical management with the use of antihistamines, steroidal and non-steroidal nasal sprays, and recommendations made for environmental control measures. If these methods are unsuccessful, your ENT physician may recommend allergy testing.

Prick-skin and intradermal testing methods are performed in our office and are effective for patients suffering from perennial allergies as well as seasonal allergies. The test results provide a safe starting point to determine the concentration for allergy shots if needed. Patients that receive skin testing typically have already tried managing their allergies on their own.
